Came to a family members house and their computer has this iexplore.exe in the task manager taking up all of their memory in the task manager. It causes a crapload of popups in IE so they only use Firefox now, but it still is in the task manager no matter what. And there are still random IE popups from time to time.

Tried almost everyrthing, any help ladies?

http://getfirefox.com

if it's running at startup, then you may have a virus, trojan, or worse.

go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com and have it scan all files and hard drives on that system.

thanks for your help, they already are running firefox.

Doing more digging, it seems like it is from adserver5.com and something called CiD.

you probably have some other adware that is causing that. is may also have a component called "iexplore.exe" to trick you into not force shutting it down. a lot of spywares have names like svchost.exe or rundell.exe or iexplore.exe etc so that you wont suspect what they are in task manager.

Start Windows in fail-safe mode and run Antivirus and Antispyware. You might want to check the Consolidated Security thread in the Software section.
