IE's association with zips..

How can I change so that IE does not automatically DL zips and open 'em with winzip.. I don't ever remember setting it as a helper and can't remember where to turn it off.

I've got the same problem, except mine is opening them with winace instead of winzip. 🙂

I swear I didn't tell it to always download and open zip files...

not sure if this will work, but ....
from windows explorer, go to tools -> folder options -> file types -> winzip -> advanced -> confirm open after download

if you're using msie6 and just update the security patch, read this thread

Gaunt, go to the file types (see above) and set winzip to always open zip files... or easier way is to get a zip file (whatever, on your hard drive), hold shift and right click, open with, and choose winzip. don't forget to check "always open with this program" ....
