IE9 , very interesting

Anandtech has an article on the main page about IE9 and you can download the preview for yourself here:

The GPU features are pretty interesting and it would give MS an advantage over the other browsers out there right now. You can use the preview for browsing but don't expect anything like plugins, favorites or things like that as this is a really basic version just showing off the tech. I'm using it now to type this so it is functional.

Obviously they are still a bit behind Chrome in terms of raw speed, but it will be interesting to see how they improve as they move towards a beta and eventually a final release. BTW, the IEBlog in general is a great read. It's great to get the perspectives from the IE development team, as well as some of the challenges they faces regarding interoperability with old IE-only sites as well as supporting web standards.

I was really impressed with the tests they did for compatibility . I was an IE hater in the past using it only long enough to download a new browser. If they can keep that compatibility, gpu support and the speed they might have a winner.

Was browsing the web with opera and noticed it wasn't supported by netflix. So I thought just for kicks I would try the preview. To my surprise it worked flawlessy with no need to configure anything and with full GPU acceleration.
