IE6 ... Yes or No

Saw IE6 is available, but I have not heard anything about it.

Any thoughts on Pros..cons???

Right now I am using 5.5 on Win2k

It came with WinXP Pro... I have no complaints about it. I'm sure you would like it, I can't really tell a HUGE difference between IE5.5 and IE6.0.

Neo_Geo, go w/ IE6, I'm running it on my system and it doesn't crash as much as IE 5.5 did, hope this helps.

I always like staying with the latest release. If you use IE, you gonna have to upgrade to 6 eventually. Its free, so why not?

I've got it and noticed more pop ups than before, don't know if the two are related.

Anyway, if you want the security holes the size of a Mack truck reduced to a Chevy Impala (LOL) you need the upgrade.

It is very good. You can controll the cookies better and it is faster.
But on Win2000 is the IE6 faster than on XP!!!

Wow!!!

I don't believe it! Not a single negative against IE 6! What happened to all of those MS flame warriors out there? I was expecting at least one "It crashed my system" response.

I don't beleive I have ever seen a MS product recieve this sort of acceptance. Looks like I will have to try it

I would have stopped by and recommended a recent Mozilla build (been using them since 0.9.5 myself without any problems, and it's security history is 100s of times better than IE's) but I figured someone would have bitched about how it's irrelevant to this thread.

Try the new Opera browser, V6.01. It's really damn good. I've only run into one site that didn't render correctly but it was still readable. Plus the program itself is highly customizable. Press F12 while a page is showing and you can quickly disable/enable settings like plug-ins, pop-ups, javascript, etc. Amazing.

I think it is a little less stable than 5.5. I'm still using it right now thoughs, but will probably switch back on an OS reinstall. Also it seems to sometimes take up 99 percent of my cpu even though I quit it. Seems like it is in an infinite loop of some sort.

Seems ok in Win2k. I especially like the privacy tab settings. Win2k and Cookie Crusher appear to have some problems working together.
