IE6 - worth the trouble?

Is IE6 sufficiently 'seasoned' to be worth the trouble of upgrading?

I still see numerous posts regarding problems, but that really isn't a good indicator. I'm primarily interested in the enhanced cookie control, but not at the expense of an otherwise purring W2K system. I tried installing it on my wifes 'puter (poor guinea-pig that she is!) but could never get a successful installation until I installed it on a separate partition with a separate W2K install.

I'm not thrilled with NS6 and don't care to go Opera etc, so just opinions on IE6 please.

I have been running it on my PC's since it came out, at first it was buggy. Now I haven't had a single problem in a couple months. About time MS got it right. I say go for it.

Using IE6 on both my 98 and XP computers, anyway it has never given me any problems and seems very stable to me,in the end everybody will judge how good or bad it`s on their own PCs,however I`ve no complaints.

🙂

I think IE6 is the best yet from MS. Love the cookie control (block all third party cookies)

One thing I've been wondering about is the Blocked sites list under the privacy tab.... where does IE store this data? I just reloaded my system (on a spare hdd) and would like to restore the previous blocked domains to the 'Per Site Privacy Actions' list from my former install but can't seem to figure out how! Any ideas?

It sounds like you still have the old installation available. If this is the case, and if you are running WindowsXP, the file and settings transfer wizzard will get you there.

IE6 has been ready for Prime time since XP came out. Now with SP1 it is excellent. No complaints. No problems.
