IE6 Update Sucks!

I just ran the IE6 update off of Windowsupdate and now it changed the way my "Navigation" drop down menu on the forums works! It used to be when I clicked the drop down, every selection in the menu would appear without a scroll bar. Since the update just a few minutes ago, I noticed that now it only shows 10-11 selections in the menu rather than all of them. DAMNIT!!! Why must Microsoft break a good thing like this!!!!

BTW, running WinXP SP1

i didnt notice this. then again I use mozilla has well

Yeh the cumulative patch for IE6 update: I'm scared of it. After I updated, I could only surf slower than 56k, so I had to restore a backup.

That's what happeend to me when I ran the PS1 update. I hate it. I want the entire menu back. I don't want to have to scroll in a drop-down menu.

Methinks there are fanboys in our midst gentlemen.

I require IE because my company develops their web apps strictly for IE. I wanted to know if anyone else was seeing this issue other than me, I didn't ask for an alternative, although I am doing some research and reading some reviews on the other browsers right now.

What does your analysis of my computer not being "decent" have to do with this issue. Last I checked 700MHz was more than fast enough for surfing the web. Guess it goes to show, opinions are like @$$holes, everyone has one and they all stink.

Yeah, IE6 is right up there with Win95.
Have you noticed it crashes more too?

Funny, mine doesn't crash at all.

Really?
It crashes (where it asks if you want to send an error report, although you can almost always work around it) much more for me.
On many computers (friends, family).

So that means that Internet Explorer sucks, isn't stable, and crashes all the time?

Mine's fine. The only problem I have is with Counter Strike once in a while. Other than that, my system is rock solid.

I agree. IE 6 is a tukey. Just go to Add/Remove Programs, and click Microsoft Internet Explorer. When you do, it will give you the option of reverting to your previous version of IE. 🙂

IIRC, there is a setting for that... but I'll be damned if I can remember what it was or where it is.

I'm running XP pro SP1 with the IE6 update, and I see all selections in the Nav drop down on this page.

I would think it would be a reg key or something, but not sure. Have you visited Windowsupdate and run the latest IE6 security roll-up on your box yet?

System Properties (right click My Computer and choose Properties) --> Advanced tab --> Performance --> fool around with the "Smooth scroll list boxes."

See if that does the trick?

I have smooth scroll unchecked. Maybe that's it? I can't remember what did it. 🙁

Now this is freakin weird! I just rebooted after updating a sound driver and lo and behold, my full drop down menu is back! WTF?
