IE6 So Slow to Load!!!!

HELP !!!
I need to know why my internet explorer is so slow to load ...
I have WinXP Pro and it used to load very fast ... now it takes maybe 30sec to load ... its very disturbing !!!!
I have an AMD K6-3+ 550MHz
256MB PC100 SDram
radeon 32mb ddr
Seagate barracuda IV 20GIG
SB PCI 128
DLINK 10/100 Ethernet card
bla bla bla ...
also ... my Netscape 7.0 doesn't seem to want to download anything ... everytime i click on something to download ... it'll say : error initializing Download Accelerator...
I Don't have Download Accelerator... I checked my registry and it's not there!!!
I just don't understand
!

Check to see that it is looking for a proxy server. Goto Tool, net options, then connections. Goto lan settings and uncheck proxy servers.

I have found this to happen in XP Pro after a while. I wonder if there's a bug or something.

Actually I just thought of this...try clearing your cache...maybe there's something that causes IE6 to load slow with a large cache buildup. That could explain why this problem gradually appears.

if nothing is solved you can always try to reinstall IE6. i did this and it worked like brand new. uninstalling ie6

This has probably happend after you've installed SP1, you should take flux's advice and resintall the browser...
