IE6 fixed 5.5 printing problem

I was successfully running IE 5.5 in Win ME and printing my on-line banking data with no problems. One day I wanted to save a web page to an Acrobat PDF file so I selected Acrobat Distiller from the print menu. From then on 5.5 would only print to a PDF file. bummer! No way could I figure out how to change it back to my HP 895c printer. When I clicked to print a file or hit Control + P I would get an error message the printer could not be found.

Then I was told by a friend to install free IE6. So after cloning my hard drive to my backup hard drive I installed IE6. To my amazement I was once again able to print to my HP 895c ink jet printer. What it looks like to me if you are using IE/OE 5.5 and are having problems install IE6 over 5.5 and it is likely to solve any problems you are having with 5.0 or 5.5 as it did for me. 🙂
