Can someone tell me how to set Yahoo Mail as my default mail program in XP and IE6. Most of the searche results I got led me back to outdated Yahoo Mail help pages. Yahoo told me that the Yahoo Internet Mail Application was no longer supported or available for download.

Interesting! A majority of all my spam comes from *.yahoo.com - as a result - I have yahoo.com as a domain completely blocked for rejection by my ISP.

So what you are telling me is that your not sure how to accomplish what I was asking? Interesting.
Thanks for the reply.

Actually it is pretty simple if you use Outlook Express or Eudora as your mail program. Just set up your Yahoo mail box as the account for in and SMTP for out. That's for POP3. For webmail, just use mail2web.com and enter your email address and password. It's free.

Yes, the reply's and link were helpful. I totally agree with corkyg about the large amounts of spam from Yahoo. I was trying to help an older relative who just upgraded from Windows ME to XP. She is just used to using Yahoo. For some reason Outlook Express seems to confuse her. I found a small application a few years back from Yahoo, that when it was downloaded, added Yahoo Mail to the program options in internet explorer, and would allow for Yahoo Mail to be the default. But since that isn't available any longer I guess my next option will be to try and get her comfortable with Outlook Express. Again thanks for the help and information.

If you think it would help, I am a volunteer instructor for SeniorNet in our local lab for seniors, and one of the parts of our basic computing course is email using Outlook Express. Email me privately and I can send you that portion of the course book/lesson plan.
