IE5 options and user options are both nuked

I have a computer at work that was having some issues displaying some webpages. I went into the options only to get an invalid page fault error. Went into the control panel and the icons are messed up for both Internet and Users. This is with Win98SE. What would have nuked them and how do I get them back correctly? I did do a quick reinstall of Office2K (I was hoping to only have to do IE but it was an all or nothing deal) which got the webpages back to normal but I'm still missing the IE options.

Why reinstall Office2k at all? Give a shot at doing a "Repair" of IE from control panel>add/remove programs. Otherwise, consider service packing or upgrading IE from MS's site.

well, I went to reinstall IE from the office cd but could not find the setup file to start it but it did give me an option to repair all of office so it was actually the quickest solution. The big question is how do I get the users applet back in control panel? What feature do I need to uninstall and reinstall?
