Hey guys,

So far, here are some homepages I can't open. (just show "HTTP 400 error")

ups.com, fedex.com, bmgmusic.com, cnn.com, netscape.com

However, I'm able to open those sites with Netscape. Do you have any idea?

Thanks ahead!

those sites open up fine for me (msie 5.5 sp2)
maybe your msie is messed up?

try start > setting > control panel > add/remove program > msie > repair msie
see if it fix your problem....

may also try msie > tools > option > security > internet > and see if there are sites that are blocked ....

third, did you install some softwares that controls which websites you can/not visit?

if all else fails, there may be some trojan or virus that's messing up with msie....

would suggest you to stick with netscape or mozilla, but that's not the problem here though ....

Also, you might try lowering your privacy level and cookie barriers in IE. Some sites won't accept you unless they can hit you with pop ups, ads, and cookies.

Thanks for your comments.

I tried everything that both of you suggested, but it didn't work.
I changed my router recently (from 3com gateway to Belkin gateway), so I doubted it at first time.
But those sites open up fine with the other computer in the next room. So the Belkin router is not the problem.
Maybe I should install Windows again.

Thanks.

p.s. Here is one more site: times.com

hey ub4me

did u ever figure out what is wrong?

my firend just upgraded to XP and its doing the same thing....

I don't know.
But after reading your comment, I began to doubt IE 6 and XP.
Recently I upgraded IE 5.5 to IE 6.
After having a problem, I deleted IE 6. But the result wat the same.

So maybe IE 6 and XP have a serious error on this.

Can anybody prove this?

p.s. My OS is Windows 2000.

hmm the thing is i'm arunning IE 6 and xp and its fine..

so i have no ideaa
