IE5.5 or Media Player7 in W2K?

Oops....enthusiasm got the better of me and I broke the rules and installed both of these updates from Microsoft at virtually the same time. Now I have a problem and I don't know which of the products to blame for it.

My issue is trying to select a location to save a file to from any app that offers the standard pull-down list of drives. As soon as I click on the litte triangle to open the drive list the application in question freezes. The application can be closed using the Task Manager but after occuring once the only solution is a restart of W2K.

Be interested to know if anyone else has experienced similar problems or knows of a cause for it?

Many thanks
Steve

I agree. I'd try an uninstall of IE 5.5 and see what happens then. Worse case...the setup should still be on you HDD and you can install it again later.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've removed IE5.5 now and the problem seems to have been solved. Only wierd thing now is that I seem to have version 5.00.3103.1000 of IE.

I would have expected it to revert back to the version I had before installation of IE5.5 but I'm pretty sure that was 5.00.3105.0000. Oh well, all seems to be working OK, just another of those little computer mysteries I guess.

Regards
Steve
