IE5.5 Locks up

When filling in text boxes on pages, cursor starts to lag and when submitting the page, IE locks up.
At first I suspected IE's AutoFill so I turned it off. Then I suspected a java error, so I reloaded IE5.5. Same deal.

Running a P3-450 on an ASUS P2B 96mb CD, CDRW, USB (mp3, zip, printer), SB Live, V770 video.

I figured maybe it's a memory leak w/USB or conflict with a driver?
Any ideas on how I might approach this problem?

Have you tried disabling all other software running?

It's IE 5.5 itself, had nothing but probs with it here, I went back to 5.1 Do you run Mplayer7 ? If so there is the conflict....

I have similar hardware to yours and had lots of problem w/ Win 98 and IE5.5
I just switched to Win 2K last week ans installed IE5.5 lastnight. It's working perfect.
try to get rid of 5.5. if you can. the only feature I like on it is the print preview anyways.
stick to 5.01

I'm having no problems running IE 5.5 SP1 on Win2K SP1. Are the rest of you guys running the newest service pack of IE?

I'm running IE 5.00.2920 with Win2k SP1 and am not having any problems at all.
