I use IE all the time.

Every fresh computer uses IE to download Chrome. IE works great for that!

I also do some front-end development.

"Surprisingly good" = "Surprisingly using some modern web standards that FF/Chrome have been allowing for many builds" :D

It's still not the most amazing browser ever created, but 10/11 are MILES ahead of 8/9.

Does IE finally support PNGs properly now?

Last I checked the colors were all wrong, and transparancy did not work. That used to be one of my biggest grippes when developing web pages. PNGs are so much better than jpg for layout/template decoration and logo as low color count makes them very small files.

IE sucks.. but I have to say FF and Chromium doesn't help the business world dump that crap browser with their meh Group Policy templates. Chrome seems to be getting better with them, but still not where they should be IMO and Firefox GPO's are still next to useless.

Have to use IE at work for some things but over the past 6 months Chrome has gotten much more compatible with some of the sites we use.

Biggest issue with IE is how the browser renders scrolling through large pages of text. Like our ticketing system with 100+ requests or reviewing closed notes. Very slow and drags in IE but very smooth in Chrome.

Other issue is the occasional freeze when too much is open. Chrome seems better at handling lots of browser tabs.

Web developer here. I don't have many problems with IE9+. The only problems I run across is that IE 10/11 sometimes puts the site into compatibility mode based on some stupid list and compatibility mode is what breaks things. I honestly run into more problems with Firefox than I do IE.

I support IE9+ 100%. I try to make IE8 mostly visually correct and I try to make IE7 usable even if the UI is kinda wonky.

IE8 crashes non stop here at work. It is the bain of my existance.

Then its a problem with the implementation or your system at work. IE is stable and does not just crash unless there is some other problem.
