IE windows open really small?

Recently my IE windows started acting weird. When I used to click a link that would open in a new window it would open as a maximized window, now it opens as a rectangular box about 2" high by the width of my screen. I'm running win98se and have looked everywhere for an option to reset this somehow. What can I do?

Thanks,

Sean

Most of the time that setting is remembered from the previous opening. I would just try resizing the window (if you need help doing this, use windows help). Then close the windows and continually do that. It should start to remember what size the previous window was when not maximized. This should apply to all Microsoft products.

Try using the Shift key while resizing. I'm not sure about maximization, but that can change the windowed size and keep it remembered.

I highly doubt this will work, but try it anyway :p
Try opening one Internet Explorer window with everything else closed.
Get it just how you want it.
Then open Windows Explorer (windows key + E)
Then go View > Folder Options > View Tab
Click the "Like Current Folder" button...

did it work?

If you open an IE window, then hold down the Shift Key while you resize it, it will be "remembered" the next time you open IE. (Just do that and then close IE; reopen to test but it should work.... it did for me!) :D

The resizing while holding shift worked? I thought I used to do it by Maximizing teh window and closing it, then the next time it would be opened it would be maximized. It has never gotten stuck like tht before. All better now, thanks.

Edit: Just figured out whats doing it....AOL IM, when I go to check my mail via the "read mail" button that window opens in a weird size and then all my other windows after that stick to that size. You would think they could get the windows to open properly?
