IE will not connect

I have an HP Laptop with vista that while stating it is connected to my router will not connect to internet. I have done the winsock repair , IP realease/renew and restored to a point before the problem started with no luck.

Any ideas and suggestions would be appretiated 🙂

Are you sure that it is connected to the Router?

Try to connect to the Router's Menu with the browser.

.

Run Malwarebytes (Malwarebytes.org) and see if your system has been hijacked.

Download it to a USB thumb drive (from a working PC, lol) and install onto your system and then run.

have you made sure you're getting a good IP? try to do a print route from command prompt and make sure the default route is your routers IP. Are you not able to connect to anything on the network or is it a DNS issue? might also want to check the dns server that the machine with issues is using... if all of that looks ok, try to manually set the IP and/or DNS and see what happens.
