IE status bar dissappears upon opening a link in a new window.

The subject explains it all, when I click on a link that opens a new window or manually open a link in a new window in Internet Explorer 6 SP1 (it was happeneing before SP1) the status bar at the bottom of the window is gone. I have to re-enable it in the view menu every time. Any thoughts?

If I am not mistaken..... enable the status bar, goto My Computer, goto folder options, make sure that the "Remember each folder's view settings" is checked, then click the "Apply to all folders" button at the top.

But the problem with that is that it only works with Windows Explorer and not Internet Explorer, which is what I'm having the problems with. I don't even have it enabled in Windows Explorer. Any other ideas?

Have you tried it? I seem to remember that it would also work with IE to keep the status bar enabled.
