i am getting a microsoft visual c++ runtime error when i try to view a site through IE. i ran ad-aware and removed claria and ibis toolbar. i'm still getting the same error though. anything else i should try?

Are you sure it's not a JavaScript error? Go to Tools / Internet Options / Advanced and check "Disable script debugging".

"disable script debugging" is already checked and it's still giving the runtime error.

Is it a particular site that is generating the error?

My friend has this problem with ESPN and it turned out to be because he installed the ESPN Motion thing that shows video at the main page and the uninstall had messed it up. Re-installed it and then re-uninstalled it and the problem went away.
