is there some way to make the backspace key do nothing rather than being a back button replacement? i hate when i'm filling out a form, hit backspace to delete something, and the damn thing goes back, and then i have to fill out 20 fields again. theres already a keyboard command for back, plus a giant button at the top and in the context menu. why do i need a 4th way to do it?

What you're doing wrong is clicking out of the text field somehow. <obviously>If you're in the text field, that would never happen to you</obviously>. But I agree it's a problem - you have to be REAL careful when filling out long forms via web pages. ¬

yes, i know what "i'm" doing wrong. but its more a case of i clicked it and windows didn't work the way it is supposed to (happens with radio buttons all the time, i click, it flashes black, but then goes back to not being there). anyway, there wouldn't be any conflict at all if some jerk at MS hadn't decided to make the backspace key a 4th option (5th if you're lazy enough to use back and forth buttons on your mouse).
