IE question- How do I erase some links from the address bar?

if i type intell.com, it stays on the address bar "cache". so next time when i start typing, it appears as an option.

how do i get rid of specific links?

If you only want to erase specific links then click your History icon (it looks like a sundial) and in the sidebar that opens up right click on the link you want to delete and delete it. If you want to erase all of them then broadwayblue's way is much faster.

click on the history icon, then look through your history for the links you dont want and right click, then click on deleate. it doesnt work for all site tho.

If I'm not mistaken, whats been mentioned doesn't work at all. Clearing the history doesn't stop web addresses from showing up in the adress bar when you start typing (at least for me). I think a program like Autowhat might do the trick better.

Go to Tools --> Internet Options... --->Content tab----> AutoComplete --> uncheck "use Autocomplete for web addresses"

This will stop it from happening in the future.

In IE6 clearing the history does in fact stop addresses from appearing in the address bar and in the open window. Perhaps not in earlier versions?

But you can't get rid of addresses individually.

I believe that this has to be done in the registry, like Windows Media Player and many other programs do.

i have ie5.5

deleting the site off History doesnt delete it from the Address line :(

registry huh? :(

how long does that item stay on the address bar?
