IE problems

Every once in awhile after my PC has been running for a bit, I'll be using IE and when I click on a link that calls up a new browser window it just locks that window up completely and I can't wait it out or exit without close it in task manager. I have to reboot for it to "cure" this problem, and it's getting very annoying.

I've never had this happen before, using IE6 with all windows/IE update packs, using XP pro. This also happens with MyIE2.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? perhaps some scripting errors? I'm sick of having to reboot every so often for this crap.

And no i'm not switching to mozilla/firebird/opera/etc, i like IE. :)

Posted this in general hardware, no responses so I thought I'd try it here too.

TRY :

Start >> Run >> regsvr32 urlmon.dll

You will get a message that states it was successful. Now try it.

I'm IT for Duke Energy in Canada... we use this on all calls about IE killing new browser windows.

Might just be our environment, but its worth a shot.

Also make sure your using SP1. or just revert back to 5.5 SP2...
