When I click on some links on webpages nothing happens. I do not have a popup blocker installed, and it only does it on some websites. Also, I'm using XP Home and have my wife and kids on separate user accounts. My wife also has administrator rights. when I'm on her profile everything works ok. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the info but I currently use Spybot Search and Destroy (with updates) and Adaware from Lava (w/updates). Like I said earlier everything works fine on my wife's profile. No issues.

Thanks again,

Any other takers?

I guess I need a little more information to be of much help -- when you click on the link, does it do anything or just set there? Or do you get a 404?

It doesn't sound like any hijackers I'm aware of, but you might download hijackthis and post the log here for us to review. There's a link to HJT in this great post! Hijacks *CAN* be profile-specific and Spybot and Adaware don't usually find/repair all of the damage.

****DISCLAIMER****

Improper use of Hijackthis can cause serious damage to your computer. Unless you're certain of what should be and what shouldn't be running on your computer please do not make any changes with HJT unless instructed by someone familiar with its operation.

are you using a firewall? if so what kind? some firewalls will prevent popups, block certain sites and javascripts in which case you would have to adjust your firewall settings.
