IE problem (maybe a bug)

So a computer that was working last night quit this morning. A virus came up on the scanner and I deleted it. IE won't get a connection now. It's almost like it's set to timeout instantly, because it doesn't even feel for a connection. The lay, though, is mozilla works fine. Anyone heard anything similar? I'm pretty sure all the settings are fine seeing as how it worked perfectly. And I uninstalled / reinstalled, still no luck. SP1 and everything.
