Hey all. I'm having a serious Internet Explorer problem. Some malicious pop up ad added a Search the [ ] go Airline ticket | Sports book |Computers| black Jack | Wedding sh!t on my toolbar and it will not go away. When I accidentally click on that annoying junk bar, it sets my homepage to http://www.gocybersearch.com without my permission. How do i get rid of this?

Update: Ok, I got rid of the bar, but my IE is still contaminated with this ad crap. When I click on "Search" button it no longer links to MS, but links to this spam crap. When I look in view, toolbar menu there is a checkmark option to unspecified blank space, which enables the spam bar.

Where did this dumb ass spammerware write and how can I completely clean it out?

look at your add/remove, they might have installed it auto so you have to uninstall it.

also clean your temp folder and also the cookies

one more thing, use adaware to see if there's anything wrong with it.

PM me if you still can't get rid of it. I'll think of something else.

Jerboy: All that stingbandel said, plus:

1. Do a complete anti-virus scan of your hdd. Norton, for instance, typically detects that crap as a virus and will quarantine it for you.

2. Use Windows Updates to download the latest critical updates from Microsoft. The most recent patches an IE vulnerabilty to certain Java applets, which are used in the scenario you describe.

is it the same as this problem you posted in OT? (one is gocybersearch and the other is allcybersearch
only found solution to one (allcybersearch), but hopefully it works for both....
