IE Patch to Fix user:login@www.internet ?

as most of you probably know that one of the more recent IE upgrades made it so
if you paste a link in to a members site that is like http://bill:clinton@www.politicalarena.com/members/
it wont auto login to the site like before. I know why they did it and such but was wondering if anyones
seen a patch/fix to make it like it was without downgrading or using an altnerative browser.
