IE-Outlook Profile Annoyance

When surfing the net and trying to email the link to the page I'm at, I'm experiencing a couple of real nuisances... Unless my mail-client (Outlook 2002) is open when I try to send a link by email, I get a 'Choose Profile' dialog box (even though I've already designated Outlook as my default server)! Secondly, the link now becomes an email attachment, wheras I would like it to be in the message box (without having to copy & paste it).

Anyone have a solution for these annoyances?
