IE on-screen resolution

My desktop is in 800x600 doe to a 15" monitor, so when I view web pages of width (1024x)768 and above, I have to sidescroll to view the entire width of the page (my screen = 600 pixels, webpage = 768). Is there any way to make IE proportionately shrink the height and width of the page, so it fits the width of my screen, so that I don't have to sidescroll (that is, converting the 768 pixel width into 600 pixels)?

Thanks in advance.
