But when tracerouteing from shell boxes, the DNS resolves. I am on optonline.net in Brooklyn, NY. Friends using optonline.net in Yonkers, and Long Island report no problems. This problem has been going on for about seven days, and I am not sure why. I can't even browse their site using the IP because all their links point to their root domain, rather than a directory. This is the only site I've having problems with.
I have the exact same problem 7 days. It works on my other machines in the house though.
EDIT: I found a solution (so long as their ip doesn't change often). Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc then open up hosts in notepad then add this:
216.52.208.181 www.newegg.com
That works for me but it is still odd why I had this problem.
