IE nor Firefox working properly.

For some wierd reason IE or Firefox are not working on my sisters computer, I can ping sites and I'm sure my connections are good but IE and firefox are giving me errors.

I think it might be the firewall, I'm going to check that now.

Open the file with Notepad, and post the lines (usually the last ones) that don't have a # before them. There should really be one line there - 127.0.0.1 localhost. Sometimes spyware will add settings there that redirect traffic to adservers.

And do try that LSPfix. Sometimes when spyware installs, it makes changes to files that affect the TCP/IP stack. When the spyware is removed, these files are taken away too, partially disabling TCP/IP. That handy program there fixes that problem.
