IE keeps hanging and freezing.

Ok my problem is that IE keeps countinually freezing for about 30 seconds to a minute on a somewhat regular pace. The thing is the computer is not freezing, because the only thing freezing is IE being able to load pages. This is driving me nuts! I dont think its a Hardware problem, at least i hope it isnt. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? I am lost here.
