I have had nothing but problems getting into my bank website lately. So I decided to download netscape and it works now. I dont know what happened but since I downloaded netscape all of my problems have left the building. Good bye IE....
I had problems logging into a secure site with IE, and tech support had me delete all my cookies, which fixed it right up. Kind of a pain, though, because all the sites (like AT) made me login again, which meant finding my list of logins/passwords!
I've never had problems with IE (that weren't my fault). Perhaps your bank sucks at coding for IE but rocks at coding for NS (in which case they would suck balls as it were)?
I love Mozilla.
It really only takes a few seconds to load on my machine, and is a way fast browser.
I actually like the interface (with the BlueCurve theme) better than Firebird's.
as much as i'd hate to promote MS app...
majority of websites are designed with IE compatibility checked.
not to many sites do that for NS, Mozilla(FB), or Opera.
if you can do without IE, more power to ya...
but i haven't had issues that you guys are talking about with IE.
Now, if IE6 only supported tabs. That, plus the Google toolbar w/ pop-up blocker and I'd use IE again.
I find tabs like in Mozilla, Firebird, etc. to be so much more convinient than tons of different open windows like IE tends to spawn.
I'm NOT saying that this is the case but avoiding to properly program or bypassing certain security requirements or issues for example in order to make it appear 'better' may not in fact be better. AGAIN I'm not saying anything about your browser of choice but it basically comes down to trust... If you trust your borwser with your bank the way it is then good for you.
It would be like leaving your house door always unlocked, it's very very easy for you to go in and out with no problems at all, no keeys to look for no complicated security alarms to deal with and so on, and odds are that you will not get robbed. In this example going in and out of your house may be 'problem free' but it may also not be the best way to go about it.
I will say it a third time, this may not be your case but before blaming IE there are certain things you may want to think about before laying blame.
