IE Favorites

Hope there is a really easy answer for this...

Sometimes when I bookmark a page, it appears on the Favorites Toolbar with unique icon for that site (like the one for Andandtech)...a few days later the icon appears as the standard IE Explorer icon...

does that happen when I clear my cache or delete my temporary internet files?

IE is taking over your computer!!!

if I recall correctly there was a program that "refreshed" the icons you speak of. Now what was it called?

I'm also curious about this. Where do browsers (IE, FF) store site-specific icons and can we control how/when they're changed?
