IE Explorer Favorites Icons

WHen I save a website, to the favorites, it usually adds an icon, a logo, of the site. But later, all these logo icons do not show up in the favorites list. It defaults back to the IE explorer "e" icon. Why is this? Why dont these logo icons stay put?

When the temporary internet files get purged after X days the logo disapears until you rebookmark, at least that's what I was told.

Yep, .ico files are cached.

Use a downloading program like GetRight and download 'http://websitehere.com/favicon.ico' because that is the default name for the favorite/bookmark icon for browser-aware browsers.

I did that for the sites I have in my address bar and then change the icon in the shortcut to the saved location of the .ico files for each site. Works well!

When I use Firefox, those logos remain and are not purged.

Why are you still using IE ????
