IE dosent work

I have IE 5.5 on windows 2000, and recently IE just stopped working. Any page I try to access, dosent load up, it says connecting to site at the bottom of the page, but never connects. But netscape works fine. I rebooted my computer and reinstalled IE but to no avail. anyone have any ideas?
 
i reinstalled ie 5.5, uninstalled it. It seemed to work, then stopped working. The error is the standard error when its not a valid website - "The page cannot be displayed" at the top of the page, and dns error on the bottom. Anyone had this error before? Thanks.
