It's stable, fast, full of security holes, and is integrated in the top selling O/S. What more could you ask for?

The war still rages on the Linux side of things.
Mozilla, Opera, Galeon, etc....

Browser War?????

How about a massacre!!!!

In spite of any flaws in IE, I am thankful I don't have to install plug ins to make my browser work on the net like I was consantly doing with nutscape. I am free of that browser and don't even use it in linux.

IE is fast, it doesn't crash (at least in XP) and it's pretty looking.

Works for me.

I thought there was a slight "war" 1-3 years ago, but now....

Netscape? I've encountered 1 user in the last year.

In case you didn't know it, NS 6.23 is tres kewl and as fast as IE for me -- even faster in some cases. :)

I have always liked the look and a lot of the way things work better in NS over IE. I still find sites where one thing or another doesn't work in both, so I switch. I even found a strange site that didn't work in either but worked perfectly in NS 4.7x.

According to those results, more people use Opera than Netscape Navigator.

man... MS sure did powerbomb netscape into oblivion.

They sure did. I remember when NS was at the top of the food chain (pre-ie4) and quite confident that MS couldn't catch up...times sure do change...quickly.

I was still using Netscape (and fighting off all the IE naysayers the best I could, but it was a losing battle) until April 2001. I actually just uninstalled it for good off my system last night (long overdue of course).

It was pretty obvious since the release of IE4 that Netscape 4.x was a pile of sh*t that was destined to death unless they released something with 5.x, which they never got to release. Too bad for them.

No kidding. Coding for Netscape is a bitch especially with nested tables and mixed widths. That's why Flash is da $H!T. ;)

Netscape 6.23 is very good... I would use it every day, if it didn't so damn long to load up on even a 1GHz machine with 384MB RAM.
