You know that "click" sound that plays whenever you click a link or go to a new site in IE6? Where can you set the options for that file? My desktop doesn't make the click but my laptop does and I can't find it anywhere.

The setting for the annoying ;) "click" sound can be changed through your control panel.

It would be listed in the sounds tab as "start navigation" under the "windows explorer" sound group.

I could be more specific if your laptop/OS was listed in your rigs. :p

The sound is called 'start navigation' - change it to none.

It's the stupidest thing in the world. I click my mouse and the speakers make a clicking sound...uh...my mouse clicked...why do I need the computer to simulate the clicking as well. I hate that.

It's part of the dumbening ;) of OSes. That sound was probably put in there so that technophobes on dial-up would know that their mouse-click registered even though it looked like nothing was happening.

Too bad that noise is made throughout the system even when you're not online. :p
