The bottom bar on my IE dissapeared one day and I can't get it back. It's the same bar that shows the security certificates of the websites and the currently loading objects. PLZ, I'm about to make an online purchase and I need to get that bar back somehow, without reinstalling windows. (I have winXP)

well without more specific information all I can offer is the "big gun" approch:

exit IE and get in to the registry and rename the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer key
restart "IE", you will notice that most of your IE settings are now at their default (like they were when windows was installed). You wont loose favorites or bookmarks either.

It's a pretty common problem on XP. I fixed it on a couple of my boxes. If you Google the problem you'll come up with a couple of fixes.

In the meantime, if you go to View->Status Bar you can enable it for that browsing session, but it will probably be gone again the next time you start IE.

Thnks alot guys.. it seems, refreshing the IE to default original settings and doing that view/status bar thing worked!
