IE Address bar freezes browser

Hey guys, do you know anyway to fix my IE?

When I go to press on the drop down on the address bar my IE just goes "not responding"
I can't seem to uninstall it because xp is too stupid to understand when I check it to delete it won't.

Did you try clearing your History?
