IE 6 Vanished

One day IE6 was there. One day it vanished. No desktop shortcut, no taskbar icon, no start menu icon, nada. I did a search and you guessed it, nothing. So I go to uninstall and reinstall, and when I try to reinstall IE6 the Install Shield tells me it can't install IE6 because it has detected a more recent version on my computer. Is it aliens?

You didn't mention the OS you are using, but you
can go to PROGRAM FILES \ INTERNET EXPLORER
and right-click the IEXPLORE icon and Send to Desktop (create shortcut)
