In IE 6, the load progress bar at the bottom of the window is absent 95 % of the time. Is there any way to make it stay permanently on the screen? U see, I find it nice to see how much of the page that has been loaded.

Someone already asked this and I can?t find what I wrote them but here is what I would try. Go into My Computer, make sure the status bar is checked underneath the tools, then go into the folder options and select like current folder, this makes sure that all of you settings are similar to this window. XP and IE6 (with Windows) react off of the same window settings, it is a pain but that is how good ol? Microsoft does its thing. When you have millions of people running your software; those millions of people are your debuggers, and they are free!

Best of luck! Tell me if it worked!

I don't know about XP, but in "normal" Windows that is not controlled in My Computer, but in the VIEW sub menu of IE6.

"To show or hide the status bar within a program

On the View menu, click Status Bar. Note: When the command has a check mark next to it, it means that the status bar is displayed."

(From the Help system)

For the individual windows the checking of what Corky said is true, for the individual window. The problem arises when that window is closed and you open a new one. If opened from the icon you will get the status bar, if you create a new window it will lose the setting with out the My Computer setting because Windows takes the IE window as one of its own. If it is unselected in your system then it will be unselected in IE if the proper steps are taken.

That is right, Xing . . . and that check mark is universal as you say. Might as well cover all bases. :)
