IE 6.0 old problem missed me

this old damn problem appeared once again.
IE 6.0running on win98 SE.
all updates u could think of are there
all the settings of connection are correct
except the browser wont open any site

Don't run IE 6 on Windows98.
Go back to an earlier version if possible.


Check your proxy settings under Tools->Internet options-> Connections -> Lan settings
Make sure everything in that section is disabled.

If that doesn't help, you can try choosing Internet Explorer in Add/Remove programs and choosing Remove/Repair to try and fix it.

Call your ISP they should be able to help you fix this too.
 
Can you ping an address from a dos prompt when your connected? Try this ip 66.218.71.81 (which is yahoo). If you can ping an address, there is something else wrong. There are a couple of possible fixes for it, if that is the problem. Post what you find out, to see if this is the issue.
