Okay, here's what I'd like to know. In IE 5, when you are downloading a large file, it spools the file to a temporary file in your cache, and doesn't write it to the directory you chose to put it in until the WHOLE file is downloaded.
well in the case of mpg movies, you can view partially downloaded files. while its downloading, it won't let you open it usually because its in use by IE, but you can right click/copy the partially downloaded file, and paste it somewhere, and it will copy what it has so far, and you can view it.
only problem is, I can't find where IE stores partially downloaded files whiles its downloading them (windows 2000/ ie 5.01).
I've looked in documents and settings/administrator/temp internet files/ and its never there, and I go to tools-internet options, temp. internet files, "view files" and its never in there either.
so the question is, where does it put them? also I hate it when a download times out at like 80%, and the whole movie is lost even if I don't clear the cache, because I can't find out where its putting them
any help?
