IE 5.5 + Mcafee = Death?

I'm having a problem with IE 5.5 constantly crashing (blue screens) and I am starting to suspect that mcafee activeShield is the cause of it. Any ideas?? I can't revert back to 5.0 b/c I never had it on this machine, but it seems to work fine when I dissable activeShield.
 
screw the active shield. Unless you have often bouts of stupidity and open email attachments all the time, you're probably just tying up memory resources and causing conflicts.. Because I'm sure that McAffee's stuff is written as tight as possible.
