IE 5.0 can't view jpgs clearly

For some reason, all the jpgs come out distorted in IE 5.0. Even the images i have saved which are perfectly clear come out with dots forming squares like:

.......
.......

all over the jpg. However, if i vew the image in lets say ms imager, they will come out great. They just won't load nicely in IE.

Thanks. I have a Radeon LE overclocked to 183, i've tried reinstalling the video card to no avail. Plus, i can play 3d games like UT great...some weird stuff...these jpgs...

i could of sworn i saw something about how a few amd cpus did this a while back. dunno.

Yeah, some athlons didn't display jpegs correctly. Looking fo link....

If you do have an AMD, I you're in for a free replacement.

I think it's the processor, what are you using Intel or AMD?

Yes! i have an amd athlon thunderbird 1ghz....but i never had this problem at all for over 8 months...it must be software error then right?

All right, i tried out the software diagnostics and all of them passed so it must a be hardware error. Any ideas if i can get a replacement from AMD? I can't go back to the store i bought it from cuz i opened up the system and the warranty is now void there. i emailed AMD's technical support. I'm using Netscape Nav now for a temporary solution. Thanks again. You guys saved me a lot of grief from trying to find out this problem by myself.
