The only way to keep passwords is to KEEP your browsing history.
( uncheck the "Delete browsing history on exit" )

This might be the last straw for me with this upgrade.

Since www.mail.com has BORKED access using FireFox 40 - I have no choice but to use EI 11.

And manually entering passwords

1. AutoComplete enabled to save Forms + User and Passwords on Forms + Prompt for passwords.
2. Added mail.com to accepted websites to store cookies.

Still wont keep passwords.

Must keep history to store passwords !!!!

You can solve all of that with a 3rd party password keeper. It is also more secure. The good ones encrypt the PW data base.

There is freeware called PaleMoon.

http://www.palemoon.org/

It is a Firefox version that keep maintaining and updated around the Firefox 25 and does not suffer from the "cancerous" behavior of Firefox above 28.

I keep one potable version for tasks that are working better, or more comfortable with the old original Firefox.
