IDM interrupts my streaming

Whenever I use Internet Download Manager to download something it makes my streaming video, like Directv Now, buffer every 30 secs.

I know your going to say stop using IDM. I don't want to though.

Anyway around this ? I know there is a speed limiter in the program but I prefer my Router to slow down the IDM traffic itself somehow. Is this possible?

I have a Asus RT-AC5300

As already mentioned, why don't you just cap IDM? You're purposefully using a program designed to saturate your download bandwidth, then complaining it stops you from downloading other things. Just cap IDM's download speed.

Internet Download Manager is designed to use as much bandwidth as it can by downloading in multiple connections/sources at the same time. If you can't use QOS to prioritize the video streaming or limit IDM on the router, then you either need to turn IDM off while streaming video, or use its own internal settings to limit the amount of bandwidth that it is allowed to use so it doesn't take all of the bandwidth away from the video streaming.

Thank guys.

Someone else said QOS on their router was working for IDM. Sucks.

It was a different brand router though and different firmware.

I just wish my QOS on my router would work with IDM it would be so much easier.

It does with Steam and Origin when downloading at max speed.
