idle temps

hello

ive got AXP PALOMINO 1800+, volcano9 HSF, and using artic silver 3 as TIM.... 3 92mm intake fans-1 infront blowing in & 2 at the bottom side panel, 2 80mm exhaust fans at the back near the CPU & my PSU is a double fan with a 92mm fan sucking air from the inside casing to the psu & then to its 80mm exhaust fan of PSU........ if my temp sensors are accurate, my cpu temp is 43-44degC at idle & case temp at 31 degC... at full load, im able to have 47-48 as cpu temps..

my question is has any1 have almost the same setup as mine? i just wanna know how people are able to lower down thier idle temp to below 40degC while just using air cooling? what are you idle temps (no software cooling used, okey? 😉 )???

pls give advise in how to lower down temps, especially at idle....

thanks & happy cooling to everyone!!!!

🙂🙂🙂

well actually, im not a newbie.... but i just dont understand why ive still got high idle temps... i dont like it reaching at 40's degC...

🙁🙁🙁

What board? Readings can be drastically different between manufacturers or even bios versions sometimes, and since you're certain the hs/f is mounted correctly with properly applied thermal compound and those temps are fine for a volcano9 (I hate volcanos, but to each his own 🙂 ) as long as the heatsink isn't hot enough to pull your finger away and the system is stable I wouldn't get too anal about it 😉

my mb is a cheapo Jet v266b kt266a.... well, if i do change motherboard, which one will be able to read the internal temp-diode accurately???

My temp is 60C....idle

Mebbe too much paste? AMD's tend to run hot, but with all your fans, this temp is a bit high. Readings could be wrong, where are you getting this temp from? BIOS, MBM...?

from motherboard monitro.... yea i know its quite high, i just dont understand y.... maybe 36-38DegC idle would do, but mines hot... what r u people temps at idle?

I run around 28-30 c without software help...and 22.5 with software help..Never goes above 32 c ...I have a 1700 XP "B" @1.8 volts running at 2.04 ghz

you have all those case fans, and your case temps are 31? that seems high, because i have a bunch of panaflo case fans, and my case temps are usually 28-29 idle. also, are you overclocking? my cpu temps are around 41-42 idle, and i'm running at 1.85v.

I have an antec 1080amg plus with the two stock exhause fans in the back, the 80mm, 53cfm i believe, sunon in the side port, the same fan in the front for intake, the fan that was in the side port when i got it is now cooling the harddrives and acting as an intake, and i have the same sunon fan on my thermalright sk7 matched to a 1700 tbred B at 2004ghz and it stays at 35 idle never above 44 full load. thats using motherboard monitors ws......s diode sensor.
