Idle and Load Temps are stagnant...

My temps for my AXP 2400+M @ 2.2 Ghz is around 50C idle, but only reaches 56C on load. I've read quite a few reviews on HSF combos and most of them say that they're idle is around 40-42C and then they get a load temp anywhere from 46-55C, but mine doesn't vary that much.. is it because I have a tight case? I have AS3, should I get some AS5? The fan that I have on it is a Volcano 11 Xaser Edition with it running at full rpm, which is around 5500, I believe.

You're overclocking your CPU so it's bound to run hotter. AS5 wouldn't help much, maybe a degree or two off so I wouldn't bother. What's your case temp like? What voltage are you using on your CPU?

Different boards vary in how they read temperature as well. What CPU were they using? What voltage? Voltage can significantly change temps and most boards either overvolt or undervolt by a bit. I would say forget about comparing your temps since it can vary so much because of other factors.

Well.. the voltage to get it stable at that speeed is about 1.9v (I think I need a new PSU because it seems like I can't get higher than that even though the board will post all the way up to 2.5, it just doesn't seem to get enough power). My case temps are around 32-35C.

Most of the reviews I read were using the Barton 2500+, but I read one recently that had an Athlon 64 3200+.

Thanks for the help.. I'll stop worrying!

Thanks for the replies guys.. I think I'm gonna try and save up and get a new case, psu, and hsf... I seem to be stuck at 2.3 ghz max.. which gives me 61C load. That's at the 1.9v. I figured out that my RAM was limiting me on overclock also. The ram (which is Geil PC 3200) is rated at 6-3-3-2.5, but for some reason it won't run stable at 200 mhz without the settings of 8-4-4-2.5, so I might RMA it and see if I can't get the ratings out of it.

Thanks for all the help! It was much appreciated..
