Hey guys, so i built this pc around 2 years ago which consists of
g4560
gtx 1050ti
1365x768 19" monitor from 2012

my budget is $200

1. should i upgrade the display first? im thinking into getting the 1080p 144Hz monitor like the Samsung C24R50G($190), LG 24GL600F($190) or the more pricey MSI MAG24C ($250)

or
2. get the gtx 1650 super ($190)

the thing is, if i upgrade the monitor first, i'm afraid my pc won't be able to fully maximize the monitor's potential.
if i upgrade the gpu im afraid it will be too strong for 768p.

help me out guys?

The biggest difference you'll see is 1) going to 1080p and 2) getting a proper quad core.

Right now your biggest bottleneck is the G4560. You can get an i5-6500 for $70-80 and a second hand 1080p monitor for $75. That's going to make a huge difference.

I would also upgrade to a 1060, it's about 20% faster and they only cost $100-120. But that's not as important as the first 2 upgrades.

im just using it for game, no video/photo editing etc.

the cheapest i5 6500 second hand i can found is $120, thats why upgrading cpu is not the best option imo

and also if i upgrade my cpu to i5 instead of gpu to 1650s/1060 its not gonna give my pc significant amount of fps isn't it?

It's going to increase max FPS by 10-15%, reduce the minimum framerates, and make desktop/multi-tasking much smoother.

eBay Buy It Now price history for the i5-6500 is $80-95. If you have $200 budget then you get a modern CPU and 1080p monitor first.

You have $200, and your current monitor is junk i.e. it ain't rocket surgery. Upgrade it. Who cares if you are not immediately using it to full advantage, it will still be a much better gaming experience on the same hardware. And when you upgrade the rest of your gamer, it will be race ready. You can also use adaptive sync and tweak game settings to get a smooth experience with better visuals, outside of some of the newer AAA titles that are unforgiving to low end CPUs. Overclocking the CPU and GPU will get you some extra FPS too, if that is an option for you.

I asked something similar recently, about a G4560-based rig, and they told me to upgrade the GPU. Then again, I was already on a 1080P monitor.

Since you're on a 768P monitor (aka crap), I agree with @DAPUNISHER , upgrade the monitor, FIRST.

Then upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1650 Super. Then upgrade the CPU to an i5-6500, but only if necessary.

Okay guys thanks for the input.
i will probably upgrade my monitor to 1080p 144hz (future proof and also because sometimes i play competitive games) first thing next year and eventually the gpu when the next gen console is released
