So youre trying to interrupt a total stranger's valuable game time so you can get a few symbolic points that mean nothing in reality, and you think he's the idiot?

Most people look at acheivement whoring just as bad as stat padding or boosting like in MW2. If you don't earn it, then you don't deserve having it (is the general thought process).

Is this for your Fitty Cent game? Wouldn't surprise me if there's only 2 games playing...that's actually more than I'd expect! :p

the only way to earn it is by having someone die. playing the game the AI was never going to kill you. so the only real way to get the achievment is have someone die on purpose.

so i was do the polite thing and asking before i just jumped in their game.. they could have just said no or just ignored my txt. there is no need for "go fuck yourself" type attitude.

Try to envision the typical gamer who is enjoying a lazy session of "50 Cent Blood Money" at any given moment...I'm surprised they replied so lightly! :p

well since his gamerscore was 10,000 higher than mine. im going to say yes. he could have acted more mature. the fact that he said no isnt the issue. its the way he responded.

a simple "no" or "nah" or something along that line is 100% better then a response of "go fuck you self boi"

Youre being the digital equivalent of a bum harassing people for change so he can buy some e-drugs.

Why do you expect to be treated with respect, when your actions are not worthy of it?

You were playing what game again? I find it hard to believe you expect the demographic that still plays 50 Cent Blood on the Garbage to be a mature one. It is a game based on a rapper's need to inflate is ego more than it already is.

If some random messaged me about achievements, I'd tell him to go fuck himself as well.

Wow... Are you being serious? He just asked a guy if he could help with an achievement and you're spouting nonsense about being worthy of respect? GTFO.

Yes I'm being serious. I cant stand achievement whores. It's really damn annoying when youre in the middle of a game, and you get a message from some random person you dont know asking for help with some achievement. Its as irritating as a hobo begging for change on the street. I usually dont have the patience to tell them to go fuck themselves though in either case.

Better yet when its some douchebag that was 1600 points to host a 10th prestige lobby. That just blows my mind.

This isnt the same as someone asking you to hold the door for them. They dont NEED help.

There are forums dedicated to achievement whoring where he can find a buddy that he shouldnt have to annoy normal people.

Wooooah, easy there killer.

First, those two things are completely different. Regardless of whether you can't stand achievement "lover" or not it's a part of the game. I myself love getting achievements...I know it has no bearing on the game whatsoever, but it's fun to do.

10th Prestige lobbies are cheating, through and through. While it has no bearing on the game either (other than some odd sense of self accomplishment...through cheating) they are going around the programming of the game to get ahead.

Second, how often have you actually been asked for achievement help? I've been on XBL for nearly 4 years now and I don't think I've ever had a random person ask me for help...

Finally, regardless if this guy wanted to help Joph with his achievement or not, there's a polite way to say no and an impolite way...if it really bugs you that much over someone asking so simple a thing maybe you need to seek some anger management or something, you're being sorta ridiculous. It's a game, chill out.

yea BD2003 sounds like he overreacted ... a lot lol.

but i also find the 'go fuck off' comment freaking hilarious.

i mean come on guys, you aren't new to online and the internet. people are assholes behind annonymity, and you can't help but laugh at some of that crap.

my favorite hate mails are in super street fighter 4 when i beat the crap out of someone and they send me messages saying how much i suck.

to be fair, I'd tell most people to fuck off in real life as well. But, yes, people who are sour because of a loss will say the darnedest things. I've had people in MW2 send me messages they spent awhile typing out (like paragraphs) after getting nuked. I've yet to receive a message on PSN though.

i guess i just assume the best for people. espcially when someone asks politely. not like i jumped in their game starting doing stupid stuff until they did what ever... i didnt want to be rude so i sent a nice polite txt. simple as that..

I think you're all just reading waaaaay too much into what I said. It's not like I said I would find the guy in real life and kick him in the nuts. I just think it's the OP that's being the idiot, not the person who refused to help him.

I love achievements too. I don't care for achievement whores though...if you can't achieve it on your own during the game, or you need to enlist a stranger's help to pad your score, then you're crossing the line into crazyland.

But if were talking about politeness, I think the real considerate thing to do is go to an achievement forum with like minded people. Leave strangers alone.

I guess it's the NYer in me, I dunno. It rubs me the wrong way.

M'kay, lets look at what the OP said:
the only way to earn it is by having someone die. playing the game the AI was never going to kill you. so the only real way to get the achievment is have someone die on purpose.

So, the OP tried it on his own, it doesn't work, and very few people play the game (none of his friends). Is it that wrong to ask someone you don't for help on one achievement?

You're walking down the street, someone walks up and asks you for directions to the movie theater. You know exactly where it is...do you help?

But maybe you're in a rush to get somewhere and have no time to spare or you're on the phone with a very important call. Cool, just say "Sorry, I'm in a rush" or "Sorry, I'm really busy" and move on. Nope..."GO F&#%^! YOURSELF!!!" will surely suffice...

I know the analogy isn't perfect, it's not supposed to be, it just seems like common decency could have helped out here.

And being from NYC has nothing to do with it...I know plenty of people from NYC who would have just as soon said "no."

Alright, I think we've beaten this topic to death.

But the question isn't like "can you give me directions?". It's more like "can you stop what you're doing and walk me over to the theater and buy the ticket for me and pay for it too?"

I personally simply wouldn't have responded but I'm not against the "fuck off". Seems about par for the course for xbox live when dealing with typing something out with a gamepad. A super polite response like that takes way too long to type out. I don't know why the OP is surprised or annoyed at the obvious response.

Go check out x360achievements.com or something. Plenty of like minded people there who won't tell you to fuck off.

I'm sorry, but if you honestly think "fuck off'' is an appropriate response to a polite question you're a douche. No, wait, I'm not sorry, you're just a douche. Plain and simple.
